He began building hundreds of low-income housing in the city of Netanya , Israel in the 1970s.
This is where he made his first fortune

In the 1990s, with the arrival of 900,000 Russian Jew, the demand for low-income housing skyrocketed

In 1994, he bought the Plaza Hotel in New York City

In 1998, he surprised everyone by taking ownership of Delek Group after a hostile takeover


Since 2004, he had invested in Offshore Oil and Natural Gas Exporation 

In 2013, the Tamar 1 Natural Gas went into production, saving 1% of the GDP of Israel 

Now energy is an important part of his portfolio
