As usual, there are many surprises.
First, one would expect Canada, the second largest country in the world, to have a lot of resource self-made billionaires like oil tycoon.
Well, I only found one, and his name is N Murray Edwards





Second, most of the self-made billionaires in Canada made their fortune overseas.
E.g.  Garrett Camp is the richest Canadian self-made billionaire.  He graduated with MS in computer science from U of Alberta.  But he made his fortune as co-founder of Uber and he has been living and working in the US for more than 10 years. Here is Garrett Camp



Here is Joseph Tsai, another Canadian self-made billionaire, made his fortune with Alibaba, a Chinese eCommerce giant.
