They are both from Chandigarh, India.  Despite having the same last name, they are not related


They first met at Dehli IIT, when both were computer science majors 


In 2007, after just 2 year work experience as software engineer, they co-founded Flipkart.  Their first product was selling books

In May 2018, Walmart acquired 77% of Flipkart for $16 Billion.  Today Sacchin Bansal owns 5% of Flipkart and Binny Bansal owns 5% of Flipkart 

The irony is, both Sacchin and Binny Bansal once worked for Amazon India before they quit to found their own company Flipkart. 

Amazon actually outbid Walmart by $2 Billion but Sacchin and Binny Bansal decided to sell to Walmart instead.
