In 1997, he quit his investment banker job with AB 
that paid him $700K a year to join Alibaba

$700K a year is about $60K a month.  He took a salary of $80 a moth to work for Alibaba. 
He was willing to work for Peanut

 








His is a brilliant strategy.  First, he helped Alibaba survived by raising $1 Billion from Yahoo.
At one point Yahoo owned 40% of Alibaba.

Later on, he bought back 20% of Alibaba from Yahoo. 

In 2018, he is the richest selfmade billionaire in Canada

Joseph Tsai bought the Brooklyn Nets (NBA Team) from Mikhail Prohorov in 2018
